Skating sensation Eklavya Jagal won two golds in short-track ice skating in the 3rd edition of the Khelo India Winter Games. He participated in this ice skating in the 15-19 age group. The Khelo India Winter Games tournament was held in Gulmarg, Jammu, and Kashmir. The game started from February 10-14.

Eklavya Jagal, a 10th-standard student of Amity International School, Noida, competed against 28 skaters. This was his first appearance at the Khelo India Winter Games. And therein lies the great success. Eklavya has had success in short-track ice skating championships before. He has represented India in several international ice skating competitions. He also won bronze at the South East Asia Open Trophy in January 2020. The competition was held in Singapore. Eklavya also finished third in the 500m final at the Australian Open Short Track Speed Skating Championships in October 2018. He had earlier achieved multiple successes at the national and international levels as well.
A total of 1500 athletes from all over the country participated in the winter sports competition. There were 11 winter sports in the competition. The competition includes various sports like Alpine skiing, curling, bobsleigh, skeleton, snowshoe, Nordic skiing, snowboarding, ski mountaineering, ice skating, ice hockey, and bandy.
Eklavya is preparing for Youth Olympics in 2024. He is also preparing for the 2026 Winter Olympics. He's also been training hard on the ice and off the ice at Troy. His goal is to brighten the face of the country. The young skater wakes up at 4:30 am every day for morning fitness training which includes running 7-8 kilometers followed by static & dynamic workouts and skating practice.
