Paavo Nurmi Games 2024 Streaming Details: Neeraj Chopra to perticipate in men’s javelin throw event

Olympic and world champion Neeraj Chopra of India will participate in the World Athletics Continental Gold Tour 2024 Paavo Nurmi Games to be held on June 18 at Parvo Nurmi Stadium, Turku, Finland.

Neeraj Chopra will face many of the best athletes in the world on that continental tour. By performing well here, Chopra would like to strengthen his preparation for the Paris Olympics 2024. 

Chopra is recovering from injury

Neeraj Chopra had missed the Ostrava Golden Spike meet in Czech Republic last month as he was recovering from a minor injury and was worried that his injury might worsen with the Olympics in mind. For this reason, he had decided not to play in the Golden Spike. Chopra started his season at the Doha Diamond League with a throw of 88.36 meters, in which he secured second position.

There will be tough challenges from other players

At the Paavo Nurmi Games, Neeraj Chopra will face challenge from Germany's Max Dehning, who is the youngest (19) member of the 90m club and is heading into the season. Chopra will return to Turku where he finished runner-up in 2022 with a throw of 89.30m while local player Oliver Helander was the winner that season. He will also face tough competition from him. 

Neeraj has not yet thrown the javelin 90 meters in his career. His personal best is 89.94 meters.
