Indian opener Yashasvi Jaiswal has achieved a new milestone by scoring 29 runs in the IND vs ENG fifth Test at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamsala. He has now become the fastest Indian player to score 1000 runs in Test cricket. Yashasvi needed 9 matches to complete this feat.

Jaiswas surpasses Pujara and Gavaskar

Till now Jaiswal has scored 1028 runs in 9 matches. After this, he became the fastest Indian player to score 1000 runs in Test cricket. Earlier this record was in the name of Cheteshwar Pujara and Sunil Gavaskar Who had completed 1000 runs in 11 matches. It took 12 matches for Vinod Kambli to complete 1000 runs. At the same time, Mayank Agarwal needed 12 matches to complete 1000 runs. Jaiswal has created history for India as he achieved this feat at a very young age.

Jaiswal became first Indian to score double century in two consecutive Test matches against England

The Indian Cricket Team has won the current IND vs ENG Test series. Jaiswal has played the biggest role in this success with his two double centuries. The young player, who missed scoring a century in the first innings of the Hyderabad Test, scored a double century in the first innings in Visakhapatnam and then scored a double century in the second innings of the Rajkot Test. In this way, Yashasvi Jaiswal became the first Indian to score a double century in two consecutive Test matches against England.

Jaiswal joins Gavaskar in another feat

Jaiswal was not done with smashing one record on the day, he also scored 700 runs in the Test series, becoming the second Indian to score 700 plus runs in a Test series after Sunil Gavaskar. While Gasvakar did it in 1971 and 1978, the young Indian is all set to break his record. At the time of writing, Jaiswal has 712 runs and needs 63 more runs in the second innings to break the record. He is already a prime candidate to become the Player of the Series having also scored two double tons.
