MI vs KKR has always been a one-sided match in IPL history. However, this time KKR was coming from our massive win against RCB while Mumbai Indians faced a tough defeat against Chennai. So this has to be the game up for grab for KKR.
Quinton De Kock and Rohit Sharma had a solid start to the opening partnership. Quinton looked quite impressive against the fast bowlers. Lockie Ferguson, Andre Russell, and Prasidh Krishna all went for runs as Captain Morgan look for options. Varun Chakravarthy and Sunil Narine provided that option for Morgan. Sunil grabs the wicket of Rohit Sharma as KKR looked at the money with spinners. Quinton, who was hitting the ball quite well till then found it hard to score against spinners.

As both, the spinners finished their quota of overs, Morgan had to bring back his pacers into action. Krishna was brought back and he delivered a solid delivery to get the wicket of Surya Kumar Yadav. Mumbai was 89/2 after 12.1 overs. Ishan Kishan came in at number four but never looked at ease against the pace of Lockie Ferguson. He went for 14 off 13 deliveries.
After that Mumbai could not get oof to any sort of momentum they would have liked. However, Kieron Pollard tried to knock a few out of the ground but eventually got run out after scoring 21 off 15 balls. Mumbai finished with a below-average score of 155.
The attacing chase from Kolkata :
KKR has tried to bring the Brandon McCullum type of game in the second leg. The good news is that it has worked for them till now. However, the new kid, Venkatesh Iyer has brought some flair to KKR's batting. Meantime, Subhuman Gill has tried to whack anything that has to offer. Gill flicked one out of the boundary to start the inning. Both Boult and Adam Milne proved too expensive for Rohit and Mumbai.
Rohit brought his main man back in action and he delivered a wicket for him. Jasprit got the better of Gill but already the score that time was 40 after 3 overs. Rahul Tripathi then joined Iyer and he too started playing with freedom.

Tripathi started sitting the ball with ease and out of the park. Meantime, Iyer kept on his powerful shots to Rahul Chahar and Krunal Pandya. Iyer crossed his fifty in 25 balls and Rahul did it in 29 balls. Eventually, Iyer was clean bowled by Bumrah but the game was done and dusted. Morgan came in and tried to finish the match as early as possible. However, he was caught in the deep trying to hit a six.
Nitish Rana came in and finished the game along with Tripathi in just 15.1 overs with seven wickets in hand. KKR finally broke the Mumbai jinx as Tripathi shined for them as he scored 74 runs off just 42 balls.
The IPL 2021 Points Table :
As Kolkata Knight Riders defeated Mumbai Indians yesterday. They now jump backs at 4th position on the points table as they have a better NRR than RR and MI. However, for MI in spite of the same points in the same amount of matches. Mumbai Indians slipped to 6th position of the points table with a net run rate of -0.310. So, the battle for the top four continues. However, let's look at the points table now, after the match between KKR and MI.
