India's left-handed explosive wicketkeeper-batsman Ishan Kishan has not been selected for the recent T20 series against Afghanistan. According to reports, BCCI does not seem happy with him. Ishan Kishan returned to India in December 2023 in the middle of the South Africa tour. Actually, Ishan Kishan had asked for a break from BCCI citing mental fatigue. He had also requested to spend some time with his family, but he was seen partying in Dubai.

"He told the team management that he has mental fatigue because he had been on the road continuously and wanted to spend time with his family back home. Instead, he chose to travel to Dubai and was seen partying," a source in the know revealed." A BCCI source said.
Earlier, the selectors gave Ishan Kishan a chance to join India's Test, ODI and T20 team as an alternative to Rishabh Pant, but this young cricketer missed this golden opportunity. Rishabh Pant has not been playing cricket for a long time due to an accident. Ishan has been away from this format since playing only two Test matches for India. Now he is almost moving away from the ODI and T20 teams.
According to the source, after this incident, the board's trust in Ishan Kishan has been shaken, because in a way, he has lied to get leave. Ishaan Kishan was partying in Dubai instead of meeting his family.
The exclusion of Ishan Kishan from the T20 team has raised many questions on his future. It will be interesting to see whether he is selected for the Test series against England or not. If Ishan Kishan is not selected for the Test series against England, then KS Bharat can be included as the backup to KL Rahul.
