Arjun Ranatunga is one of the most underrated players and captains ever to play the game. The firey and determined leader was the reason behind Sri Lanka's success in the 1996 ICC World Cup. The stylish batter scored 727 world cup runs while chasing in 20 matches for Sri Lanka. He averaged 55.92 while chasing in World Cups which states how good he was when the team needed him the most.

Virat Kohli, the chase master is the greatest white ball player of his generation. There is no cricket stats involving chasing where Virat Kohli's name does not occur. Virat Kohli till now has scored 727 World Cup runs while chasing in World Cups in just 18 games batting second. Kohli averages 55.92 while chasing in World Cups and has scored one century and four fifties till now while chasing.

Perhaps the greatest ever Bangladeshi cricketer to play the game, Shakib-Al-Hasan's name on this list can surprise many cricket fans. The Bangladeshi all-rounder had an outstanding ICC World Cup in 2019 becoming the first player to score more than 500 runs and take 10 wickets in single world cup. Shakib till now has scored 743 world cup runs while chasing for Bangladesh in just 19 games hitting two hundreds and five fifties.

Rohit Sharma is the player with most world cup runs in chases in the history of the game. In just three world cups, the current Indian captain now has scored 817 runs and counting while chasing in World Cup games. Rohit so far has played only 14 games while India had to bat second and chase a target in World Cups. The prolific opener has an average of 68.08 and has four centuries and three fifties in those 14 games.
