India opener Shubman Gill, who was absent from the game due to Dengue, has started training with the team ahead of the clash against arch-rivals Pakistan in Ahmedabad on Thursday. The 24-year-old batsman has not played both the matches citing illness.

However, in Gill's absence, Ishan Kishan opened the batting alongside India captain Rohit Sharma in both the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 matches. There is still speculation about the opener's presence for the Pakistan clash but a picture of Gill is going viral on social media where the opener is seen practicing in the nets.

Shubman Gill has been a vital cog in the wheel in India's ODI scheme of things for over a year and a half. He is the current leading run-getter in the format this year, amassing 1230 runs at an average of 72.35 and a strike rate of 105.03, including hitting two centuries and as many fifties in his last four ODI games.
Although, there has been no official update on Shubman Gill's recovery and it is not known whether he will be fit to play Saturday's fixture.
Meanwhile, team India had a dream start to their World Cup campaign, winning the first two matches. India defeated Australia in their first match of the World Cup on 8 October and registered a comfortable win against Afghanistan in their second match in Delhi on 11 October.

On the other hand, Pakistan cricket team has also reached Ahmedabad on Wednesday and will give its best performance to register victory against India. Under the leadership of Babar Azam, the Pakistan team has also won its first two matches by defeating Netherlands and Sri Lanka.
Both the teams will face each other on Saturday, October 14 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. India-Pakistan clash is a very high-voltage match. There is immense pressure on the spectators as well as the players to win the match. A huge crowd of cricket loving spectators is going to reach the stadium to watch this match.
