Arsenal vs Tottenham is the upcoming North London derby as both Arsenal and Spurs look to continue their impressive title charge this season.
Date, Location and Kick-Off:
Arsenal vs Tottenham is scheduled for a 5 pm IST kick-off on Saturday, October 1, 2022.
The Emirates Stadium in London will host the match.
Arsenal vs Tottenham: Match Preview:
After Tottenham won the biggest north London derby in years to claim last season's final spot in the Champions League, Arsenal can earn revenge this weekend.
The Premier League leaders welcome Antonio Conte's side to the Emirates for a lunchtime kick-off knowing Spurs could clamber to the top of the tree at full time, should the visitors claim all three points.
The stakes are therefore high as two teams desperate to assert themselves as top-four shoe-ins, and maybe even title contenders, face off.
Spurs should beware, however, as the away side has not won a league derby since March 2014.
Team News:
Arsenal:
The Gunners are hopeful that Thomas Partey will be fit enough to start the derby despite his minor knee problem. Sambi Lokonga will come in for the Ghanaian if he doesn't pass a late fitness test, however.
Takehiro Tomiyasu and Kieran Tierney are both doubts, but Reiss Nelson could return to the matchday squad for the first time in almost two months.
Tottenham:
Hugo Lloris pulled out of the France squad due to injury but an update hasn't been provided regarding his status for Saturday's game. If he isn't fit to start, Fraser Forster will deputise for the Spurs skipper.
Spurs supporters are clamouring for Conte to switch to a 3-5-2 and bring Yves Bissouma into the midfield, but it's unlikely for the Italian to make the change for this encounter. Thus, the 3-4-3 should be retained and Dejan Kulusevski or Richarlison will join Son Heung-min and Harry Kane in the front three.
Cristian Romero will come in for Davinson Sanchez, while Clement Lenglet will retain his place at left centre-back with Ben Davies out injured.
Martin Odegaard should come back into the starting XI in place of Fabio Vieira, while it's unlikely that any changes will be made to the front three.
