ATK Mohun Bagan announces squad for Durand Cup 2022

Former Indian Super League champions ATK Mohun Bagan have announced their 27 player squad for the Durand Cup 2022.

ATK Mohun Bagan have been drawn in Group B along with archrivals East Bengal Club, Mumbai City FC, Rajasthan United FC and Indian Air Force.

Goalkeepers:

1-Vishal Kaith, 12-Avilash Paul, 23-Debnath Mondal, 31-Arsh Anwer Shaikh

Defenders:

2-Sumit Rathi, 5-Brendan Hamill, 6-Peile Florentin Pogba, 13-Ravi Bahadur Rana, 15-Subhashish Bose, 20-Pritam Kotal, 22-Deepak Tangri, 44-Asish Rai

Midfielders:

7-Joni Kauko, 8-Carl McHugh, 10-Hugo Boumous, 14-Hmante, 16-Abhishek, 18-Engson, Lenny Rodrigues, 29-Ricky Shabong, 30-Pronay Halder

Forwards:

9-Dimitri Petratos, 11-Manvir Singh, 17-Liston Colaco, 19-Ashique Kuruniyan, 25-Kiyan Nassiri, 27-Mohammed Fardin Ali Molla

The addition of Ashique Kuruniyan along with Dimitrios Petratos, who is expected to join the side in September, will add more firepower to the attacking department. Fardin Ali Molla, who featured in the Bengal side that finished runners-up at the Santosh Trophy, has also been named in the squad for the Durand Cup.

After practising away from prying eyes for three days, ATK Mohun Bagan on Friday announced a 27-member squad for the Durand Cup. Spanish coach Juan Ferrando also revealed that the team will have four captains. For newcomer Florentin Pogba, it was a special birthday gift as he was named, along with Joni Kauko, Subhashish Bose and Pritam Kotal. Ferrando sounded cautious ahead of their first group B match.

"We are in a tough group. I have seen Rajasthan United play in the I-League and they are a good team.

"I feel Bagan are a stronger team now. All five foreign players are fit... The first match of any tournament is very important. Our goal is to win every match," he said.

ATK Mohun Bagan will be looking to start their 2022-23 campaign on a high and bring home the Durand Cup as their first silverware of the season.
