Emami East Bengal FC have signed David Lalhlansanga on a 3-year contract from Mohammedan Sporting Club. The Indian striker was one of the top players in the I-League and helped Mohammedan Sporting win the title for the first time.

David was also the top scorer in the Calcutta football league and Durand Cup last season. Although he had told Sportz Point during the mid-season that he was not willing to leave the Black and White brigade, he had signed a pre-contract with East Bengal before the end of the season.

Recently David was picked for the national team during the Round 2 of FIFA World Cup 2026 qualifiers matches against  Kuwait and Qatar.

David comes from Mizoram and came through the youth football of Aizawl FC's youth system before spending three years with the senior team. Then, he joined Mohammedan Sporting Club in 2023 and had a terrific season with the I-League 2023-24 winners.

“East Bengal is a big club with millions of fans spread across India. I love playing in front of passionate fans. I’ve already spent some time with
Mahesh, Nandha and Lalchungnunga in the India camp. They are very helpful and always motivate me to get better. I want to give my best for this club. Joy East Bengal!," David said via an official statement released by Emami East Bengal FC.
