Colombia is featuring in their third ever World Cup after missing out on 2019 one. So this is kind of their comeback to the world stage. They qualified for the World Cups after finishing Copa America as Runners-up, where they lost the final, for the fourth time, against Brazil.

Meanwhile, South Korea's journey to the World Cup finals have been heartbreaking too. Their World Cup qualification came after they won the semifinal of the Asia Cup, but just like Colombia, they lost in the final match. South Korea, since their first World Cup qualification in 2011, have only reached the Round of 16 once, which was in 2015. So their first objective in this World Cup would be to qualify for the Round of 16 stage.

With Germany being the favourites to top Group H, and after their 6-0 victory over Morocco it has become quite eminent, both Colombia and South Korea would fancy their chances to advance into the knockout stages by finishing second in the group.

Colombia vs South Korea Team News

Colombia are expected to form a central defence pairing of Jorelyn Carabali and Carolina Arias with Monica Ramos and Manuela Vanegas as the two full-backs. Daniela Montoya will wear the captain's armband, and play in the defensive midfield.The player to watch out for at this match is Real Madrid forward Linda Caicedo. She will be crucial to Colombia's attacking prowess during the tournament.

As for South Korea, Kim Hye-ri, Lim Seon-joo and Shim Seo-yeon is expected to form the 3 line defence. Choo Hyo-joo and Jang Sel-gi is gonna expectedly fill up the wing back position with Chelsea's Ji So-yun is set to feature in the midfield with her London rivals, Tottenham's Cho So-hyun.
