The France forward, who hasn’t played a single game this season. The football transfer rumors say it could be in line for a lucrative free transfer to St. James’ Park next summer. Ousmane Dembele is back again in the top talks as Newcastle United plans to get hold of the Frenchman after his contract expires. The Magpies are looking to cash in some big names. After the €320bn take-over of the club by the Saudi-backed Public Investment fund.
The future of the 24-year-old French international is still unclear at the Catalan Club. Dembele is looking to leave them next summer. With Interest coming from the Premier League sides, especially Newcastle United and Liverpool FC. Both clubs are preparing their bid to get him into their side.
His fitness issues and long-term injuries have restricted him to just 30 goals in 118 games in all competitions since joining Barcelona. Dembele joined Barcelona from Borussia Dortmund in 2017, right after Neymar’s move to Paris Saint-Germain. with the Catalans Paying out a reported €105m plus up to €40m add-ons for the forward’s services.
Barcelona on the other hand is keen to pen down Dembele for a contract renewal as they are not happy with the situation at St James’ Park. Dembele currently earns a salary in the region of €9.9million per year at the Camp Nou. But he has not featured at all for Barca in 2021-22. Reportedly because the club is unwilling to field him while he remains in a contract stand-off.
