Arsenal's Premier League title challenge suffered once again when they met Fulham on Sunday at Craven Cottage. Meanwhile, Tottenham beat Bournemouth 3-1 to close in on their north London rivals. The Gunners' high hopes of a first league title in 20 years have been mocked by two heartbreaking defeats in four days. Fulham were the better side in the second half and they got their reward just before the hour mark. Arsenal failed to clear a corner and the ball fell De Cordova-Reid and he smashed it home from close range.

David Raya then came up with a brilliant save to deny Cairney and the crossbar from Andreas Pereira's free-kick prevented Arsenal from conceding further.

Nketiah was entirely anonymous, with the visitors hitting the target just three times all game. Arsenal must need to go for a striker in the Winter Transfer Window if they want to challenge for the title.

Arsenal remain in fourth, two points behind leaders Liverpool and level on 40 points with Manchester City, but having played a game more than both their title rivals. Fulham and Tottenham finish the 2023 on high with clinical performances in their respective games.

Liverpool will face Newcastle in their 20th matchday on 2nd January and if they manage to register a victory at Anfield, it will be Liverpool's title to loose. Manchester City are yet to go on a unbeaten run and Liverpool have to win as many games as they can alongside registering positive results against the top 6 clubs. Jurgen Klopp is doing a commendable job with the limited transfer amount he got and if they manage to sign a defensive midfielder in the transfer window, it will be very hard to stop them.
