Inter Milan Vs Porto: Inter Milan host FC Porto in the first leg of their Champions League knockout round clash on Wednesday, looking to make a run at the trophy they've won on three occasions.
Inter Milan Vs Porto: Match Preview
Inter escaped from the group of death and finished second behind Bayern Munich but third ahead of Spanish giants Barcelona to book a spot in the last 16 against Portuguese champions Porto.
Simone Inzaghi's side are enjoying an impressive season in Serie A but have been unable to keep up with Napoli's pace and sit 15 points behind the league leaders after 23 games played.
Porto enter the occasion in remarkable form and are undefeated in their last 22 games with just three draws along the way – that's 19 victories recorded since late October.
Despite the incredible run, Porto remain five points adrift league leaders Benfica and lost 1-0 to their rivals earlier this season.
Team News:
Inter Milan:
Simone Inzaghi is expected to be without Joaquin Correa for the midweek clash in Milan after picking up a thigh injury. The 28-year-old has made three starts in the Champions League this season, recording two assists.
The Nerazzurri boss named a rotated side in Saturday's 3-1 win over Udinese, with the likes of Lautaro Martinez, Hakan Calhanoglu and Milan Skriniar starting on the bench ahead of a busy period for Inter.
Porto:
Porto manager Sergio Conceicao will miss Evanilson, Fabio Cardoso, Gabriel Veron and Francisco Meixedo for the trip across Europe whilst Mateus Uribe and Galeno are injury doubts.
In the Dragons' 1-0 win over Rio Ave at the weekend, match-winner Toni Martinez was substituted after 83 minutes and his status is still yet to be confirmed for Wednesday.
