1. Mumbai City FC (44)

The champions of the 2020-21 season have kept the highest number of clean sheets in ISL history. The club has played 123 games and managed to keep 44 clean sheets out of them. Their goalkeepers have done a great job when it came to keeping the ball away from the net. Amrinder Ranjit Singh has registered the highest no. of clean sheets for them. The 28-year old has played 81 games and kept 28 clean sheets out of them.

2. Chennaiyin FC (34)

The club from the south features at number 2 in this list. Chennaiyin FC has played 127 games and managed to keep 34 clean sheets out of them. They had some outstanding goalkeepers playing for their side. Karanjit Singh emerged as the best out of them.

3. FC Goa (33)

The Indian super cup winning club FC Goa has kept 33 clean sheets after playing 130 games. This is also the third-highest in the league. Mohammad Nawaz has been their stand out goalkeeper all this season.

4. ATK FC (32)

ATK Football Club, formerly known as Atlético de Kolkata, was an Indian professional football club based in Kolkata, West Bengal. The club competed in the Indian Super League, the top flight of Indian football and won the league thrice. Later ATK would merge with Mohun Bagan to form ATK Mohun Bagan FC Pvt. Ltd. on 1 June 2020. The club independently kept 32 clean sheets out of 107 games played. we are not considering ATK Mohun Bagan's records along with ATK FC. There would be a separate thread on ATK Mohun Bagan. Arindam Bhattacharya was their main stand out man in goal for the club when they were in the league.

5. NorthEast United FC (32)

The football club representing the North-eastern states of Indian find its place in the top 5 in this list. NorthEast United FC has kept 32 clean sheets as well, but are behind ATK FC because of more games played. The club has played 120 games and managed to keep 32 clean sheets among them. Rehenesh Paramba has been their main man behind the goal.

Following an emphatic 1-0 victory over Odisha FC at the Salt Lake Stadium on Sunday, Mohun Bagan clinched the league shield for the second time in a row, after winning it in the 2023-24 season.

Mohun Bagan SG accumulated 49 points in 21 games before the Odisha game yesterday, which was already the highest number of points earned in a season in ISL history. 

However, after snatching three more points against Odisha FC, Mohun Bagan reached the fifty-point mark, currently standing at 52 points with two matches left to play. 

This is the first time in the ISL history that any team has achieved this feat.

Most wins in a single season (16 and counting)

The Mariners have managed a magnificent 16 victories in 22 games so far, registering the most wins in a single regular season. 

There are two matches left to play in the league stage, and it will be interesting to see Mohun Bagan's winning tally at the end of the regular season.

Most wins a single season at home (9 and counting)

First ever team to keep six clean sheets in a row 

Mohun Bagan's defensive contingent have shown immaculate consistency in the 2024-25 season, with 14 clean sheets so far.

However, following the 1-0 victory against Odisha last night, Mohun Bagan recorded six consecutive clean sheets in a row, becoming the first-ever side in ISL history to achieve this unbelievable feat.

This stint started with a 0-0 draw against Chennaiyin FC on January 21st, 2025. However, Mohun Bagan won the next five games to ensure this new record.

Indian Super League organizers Football Sports Development Limited (FSDL) introduced the ISL League Winners Shield during the 2019-20 season. Only Jamshedpur FC, FC Goa, Mohun Bagan Super Giant, and Mumbai City FC have won the ISL Shield since its inception. The League winners directly qualify for the AFC Champions League group stage. During the ISL 2019-20 season, FC Goa became the first Indian club to participate in the AFC Champions League after they topped the league stage with 39 points from 18 matches. In the next season, Mumbai City FC became the first club to win the ISL League Winners Shield and the ISL title in the same edition. Mohun Bagan are the brand new champions of the shield as they beat 2-time champion Mumbai City FC by 2-1 in the last league game.

Mumbai City FC is the first club to win the ISL League Winners Shield twice. They achieved the feat after winning in the ISL 2022-23 season. Jamshedpur FC is another club to win the ISL League Winners Shield. The Red Miners lifted the Shield after finishing on the top of the ISL 2021-22 standings with 43 points from 20 games.

FC Goa - 39 points (2019/20 season)

The inaugural champions of the ISL Winners’ Shield were FC Goa. They topped the league and created history by becoming the first Indian club to play in the AFC Champions League group stage. Sergio Lobera's side finished on top with 39 points after 18 matches with 12 wins. FC Goa finished five points ahead of ATK who went on to lift the ISL trophy.    

Mumbai City - 40 points (2020/21 season)

The 2020-21 season for Mumbai City was memorable in the sense that they became the first club in history to win the ISL Shield and the ISL trophy in the same season. This time Lobera was the manager of Mumbai City FC he led them to the title. It was Lobera's back-to-back titles with a different club. Mumbai City won the Shield for a better head-to-head record over the Mariners whom they also beat in the ISL final.

Mumbai City FC - 46 points (2022/23 season)

Mumbai City created history in the league after they became the first side to win the Shield multiple times when they won it in the 2022/23 season. The Islanders broke several records under the guidance of Des Buckingham. Mumbai scored 54 goals in the season in only 20 games. The Islanders won the shield with 46 points which is the highest points tally in the ISL history. They are the first club to play in the AFC Champions League group stage more than once.

Mohun Bagan Super Giants - 48 points (2023/24 season)

Mohun Bagan Super Giant clinched the 2023-24 ISL League shield after defeating Mumbai City FC by 2-1 under Antonio Lopez Habas. The Mariners finished top with just a one-point lead over the Islanders. Mohun Bagan finished with 48 points from 22 games which includes 15 wins. They scored 47 goals, the highest in the 2023-24 season.

Mohun Bagan Super Giants- 52 Points (2024/25):

Mohun Bagan Super Giants defended the Indian Super League Shield title after defeating Odisha FC by 1-0 under Jose Francisco Molina. The Mariners topped the league table with a huge margin of 10 points from the second-placed FC Goa. Mohun Bagan Super Giants finished with 52 points in just 22 matches which includes 16 wins. They kept 14 clean sheets, the highest in the 2024-25 season. Mohun Bagan was the first team to conquer back-to-back league shields.

The record for the least goal conceded in an Indian Super League season is held by Mohun Bagan SG in the 2024-25 season, where they conceded only 14 goals in the league stage. This kind of milestone highlighted their well-organized defense and disciplined tactics.

Hyderabad FC had one of the most balanced teams in the Indian Super League 2022-2023 season, combining attacking flairs with a strong defensive setup. Their defenses, led by experienced players, conceded only 16 goals in the ISL league stage. They reached the Cup semifinals but lost to ATK Mohun Bagan on penalties.

Bengaluru FC, under Carles Cuadrat, was known for their defensive strength. During the 2019-2020 season, Carles Cuadrat's managed side only conceded 16 goals, matching Hyderabad FC's previous record. They played a tight defensive game, focusing on the structure and discipline of their defensive performance.

Mohun Bagan Super Giant's goalkeeper Vishal Kaith has etched himself in the storied history of the Indian Super League, following his clean sheet against Bengaluru FC in a 1-0 victory yesterday.

Significantly, it was Kaith's 49th clean sheet in ISL history, joining him with elite footballers such as  Gurpreet Singh Sandhu and Amrinder Singh, who all have 49 ISL clean sheets to their name. However, Kaith has managed to touch the 49-mark in just 137 appearances.

Vishal Kaith can definitely demand his legend tag now, as he is leading the ISL 2024-25 Golden Glove race with 10 clean sheets in 18 appearances this season. He also won his maiden ISL Golden Glove in the 2022-23 season, with 11 clean sheets. 

Vishal Kaith joins an elite club with 49 clean sheets in ISL 

The current Mohun Bagan SG keeper started off his ISL career with FC Pune City in 2016, though he stayed on the bench as a third-choice keeper. 

However, he made his ISL debut with Pune City in the following 2017 season, but after playing only four games, he failed to find his place in the starting eleven. 

The turning point of Kaith's career was signing for Chennaiyin FC in 2019, when he kept four clean sheets in 20 appearances, being an integral part of the 2019-20 campaign. Chennaiyin fell short to ATK in the final, but Kaith made his first-ever major final appearance. 

However, joining Mohun Bagan SG ahead of the 2022-23 season skyrocketed his skills and excelled his performance between the sticks. Kaith kept 11 clean sheets in 24 appearances to win the ISL Golden Glove that season. 

Since then, he has been the first-choice keeper for Mohun Bagan SG and has cemented his place in the starting eleven. This season, Kaith has already managed 10 clean sheets in just 18 appearances, and he will surely add more to his tally in the upcoming games.

The two-time ISL Golden Glove winner and Bengaluru FC keeper Gurpreet Singh Sandhu has 49 clean sheets in 156 ISL appearances as of now. On the other hand, Odisha FC custodian Amrinder Singh has achieved the same feat in 179 appearances.
