Phil Foden's brace and Rodri's banger helped Manchester City beat West Ham United and win the 2023-24 Premier League at home on Sunday. Pep Guardiola’s side became the first to win four consecutive league titles in a row. They equaled their arch-rival Manchester United's record of winning the title thrice in a row last season and now have surpassed that.

Manchester City finished the season with 91 points and 62 GD while Arsenal who were chasing, finished with 89 points and the same GD as City. The Gunners were one of the title contenders and they played beautiful football throughout the season but Pep Guardiola's side did it again on the last matchday.

Manchester City's ninth Premier League title and 10th English League title

The Blue Side of Manchester is now creating records for fun. Pep Guardiola has led this club to a level no one could imagine a decade ago. The Catalan has now lifted 17 major honours since arriving at the Etihad Stadium. He won the Big Five trophies in 2023, and some doubted whether this side would have the hunger to strive for success once more. However, after a long battle with Arsenal and Liverpool, City emerged victorious again. Manchester City are the Centurions, Fourmidables, Treble Winners, and also the Champions of the World.

They have now won 10 English league titles in total and on six occasions under the former Barcelona and Bayern manager, Pep Guardiola. Manchester City now have the chance to become the first side in English football ever to win the Premier League and FA Cup Double in back-to-back years. They are up against their arch-rivals, Manchester United whom they defeated in last season's final.

Another heartbreak for Arteta's Arsenal

Arsenal finished second in the points table with 89 points. They were left behind by only 2 points. The Gunners were ruling the title race last season but wasted it by registering so many defeats at last. This time, they improved a lot and thrashed their opposition by big margins but at last, they failed to taste success. Arteta has led this time in a different direction in the last few years but he missed out on two golden opportunities.

Manchester City didn't play their best football this season right from the beginning. They were hit by two big injuries of KDB and Rodri. But, they kept pushing and at last when they were at their full potential, switched the gear once again and won the title race. It has happened lots of times in the last few seasons and no club knows this better than Liverpool.

Arsenal needed to get past the 91-point mark and they failed to achieve it. It is the average winning points now in the English top-tier league and City have raised the bar pretty high.
