Premier League 2024-25 | Arne Slot sets record as Liverpool manager

Arne Slot reached a new milestone as the Liverpool boss as he became the first manager in Liverpool's history to win 10 of the first 11 games in charge. Slot becomes the very first Liverpool manager to achieve such a feat. 

The former Feyenoord gaffer joined Liverpool in July 2024 as Jurgen Klopp left after his legendary 9-year stint at the club. Arne Slot has a great start for the PL side with 10 wins in only 11 games across 3 competitions; Premier League, UEFA Champions League, and EFL Cup. 

Slot registered the record by his name as Liverpool triumphed 2-1 over Chelsea on the 20th of October 2024. Mohammed Salah and Curtis Jones scored to snatch all three points from the aforementioned clash at the Anfield.

Liverpool under Arne Slot this season

Liverpool commenced their campaign with a 2-0 win over Ipswich Town on the first matchday of the 2024-25 Premier League season, followed by another 2-0 victory over Brentford. Liverpool thrashed their rivals Manchester United by 3-0 in the third matchday.

The only defeat Liverpool suffered came shockingly against Nottingham Forest in the 4th matchday of the Premier League as Forest managed a 1-0 away win in Anfield. However, Slot brought Liverpool back to winning ways as they defeated Bournemouth, Wolves, Crystal Palace, and Chelsea.

The Reds are currently standing on top of the League table, having earned 21 points in 8 matches, ahead of the defending champions Manchester City as the Guardiola-coached side is in the second position as of now with 20 points in 8 matches. 

Slot had a pretty well start with Liverpool in the Champions League as well, beating AC Milan by 3-1 in the first game and Bologna by 2-0 in the second match-week. Liverpool also progressed to the EFL Cup Round of 16, thrashing West Ham United by 5-1 in the third round.

Liverpool has already recorded 6 clean-sheets in 11 matches so far while only conceding 5 goals in total. The Reds found the net 25 times this season so far as well.
