The Premier League is often considered the toughest league in the world. Hence, being a top scorer in this league is no joke. Here we discuss those players who ended up as Premier League top scorers in the last ten seasons.
The man was a beast at his peak. He was the premier league top scorer in two consecutive seasons from 2011/12 to 2012/13. In the 2011/12 season, he scored 30 goals with Arsenal and ended being up the top scorer. Subsequently, he made a switch to Manchester United next season and it was the same story once again. He ended up with 26 goals in the Reds the following season.
Luis Suarez is the only player who managed to bag the European Golden Boot award twice but most importantly, in the prime Messi-Ronaldo era. He is probably one of the greatest no.9 in history. He won the award jointly in 2013-14 with Cristiano Ronaldo when he scored 31 goals for Liverpool in the Premier League. The next golden boot came in 2015-16 after he joined FC Barcelona and played alongside the likes of Lionel Messi and Neymar. He scored 40 goals for the Catalan giants in the league and bagged his career's second golden boot award.
Sergio Aguero is one of the greatest strikers to play in the Premier League. He turned things around for Manchester City in the competition. After his spell with City he moved to Barcelona as a free agent and now currently plays in the Spanish top division. Aguero signed for Premier League club Manchester City in 2011 in a transfer for a reported fee of £35 million. During his 10 years at the club, he won five league titles. He also holds the record for most Premier League goals scored by a player for any single club.
England captain Harry Kane is the only player to win the award three times in the last 10 seasons. However, with all these audacious individual performances he still failed to guide Tottenham to the league title. Harry Kane has notched up 166 goals in the Premier League so far and is looking for more every season.
2018/19 - 22 (Sadio Mane and Aubameyang were at the same score with the Egyptian)
Mohamed Salah was one of the best buys in Liverpool history. The Egyptian has turned things around its head for Liverpool since his arrival. His synergy with Mane and Firmino is insane. The goal machine, also known as the Egyptian Messi has stepped up when needed for Liverpool.
Jamie Vardy is one of the most under-rated strikers if not the most under-rated. The Leicester man was the top scorer in the 2019/20 season with 23 goals. His impact on the title-winning season for Leicester City is also incomparable.

Phil Foden scored twice as Manchester City came from behind to beat Manchester United 3-1 on Sunday and close to within one point of Premier League leaders Liverpool.
Phil Foden ensured City did not slip up in the title race as he blasted into the top corner to level and produced a composed finish 10 minutes from time.
Newcastle midfielder Sandro Tonali was banned for 10 months by the Italian soccer federation on Thursday for betting on teams he played for. Tonali joined Newcastle from Milan on a five-year contract with the English club. He became the second player suspended in the widening case. Tonali's agent, Giuseppe Riso, recently acknowledged that his client has a gambling problem and that Tonali told prosecutors he bet on AC Milan and Brescia when he played for those clubs.
The federation acted following an investigation by Turin prosecutors into football players using illegal websites to bet on games. Tonali's ban means he will not be able to return in time for Euro 2024. Defending champion Italy has not qualified yet. His cooperation with authorities allowed the minimum ban of three years for players reduced to 10 months.
FIGC President Gabriele Gravina said Tonali was suspended for 18 months but that eight of those months were commutable by attending treatment for gambling addiction and making at least 16 public appearances at centers for young soccer players and associations for recovering addicts.
"We can't just think about punishing the boys and not helping them recover," Gravina added. "I think it's worth a lot more, rather than a month ban, eight months of giving talks about what they went through, in an honest way and with the right behaviour."
Last week, Juventus midfielder Nicolò Fagioli was banned for seven months after agreeing to a plea bargain with the federation.
Premier League 2023-24: Mo Salah scored a brace as Liverpool climbed to the top of the points table
Salah scored from the penalty spot in the 75th minute to provide his side the lead and then doubled it in the 97th minute which was enough for Liverpool to win the Merseyside derby at Anfield.
Liverpool climbed to the top of the Premier League with a 2-0 win over 10-man Everton in the Merseyside derby. Jurgen Klopp's side worked hard for all three points after Everton started the match brilliantly at Anfield. Dominic Calvert-Lewin missed a golden chance to put the Toffees in front within the opening minute which cost them severely.
The Reds then started to create opportunities although Jordan Pickford didn't have much to do during the first 45 minutes. But Everton received a huge blow when Ashley Young was sent off for two bookable offences.
Everton defended superbly throughout the second half until they gifted the reds a penalty. Mohamed Salah got the chance from the penalty spot. The Egyptian right-winger took the opportunity by smashing the ball into the corner to give Liverpool a much-needed lead.

Everton couldn't make a comeback from there but Liverpool did double their lead in the 90+7 minute when Nunez provided a decent pass to Salah which he finished comfortably. Liverpool are always dangerous on counters and once again they showed whys that. The 2-0 lead was enough for Liverpool to clinch the three points and go top of the table.
Liverpool center-back Virgil van Dijk has been charged with improper conduct and could see his one-game suspension extended following his red card against Newcastle on Sunday.
The Liverpool captain was shown a straight red card in the 29th minute at St James' Park on Sunday for fouling Newcastle forward Alexander Isak.
The defender appeared to argue with referee John Brooks while VAR reviewed the incident.
The FA says Van Dijk allegedly used "abusive and/or insulting words".
"Virgil van Dijk has been charged with a breach of FA rule E3.1 following Liverpool's Premier League game against Newcastle United on Sunday, 27 August," said the FA in a statement.
"It's alleged that the defender acted improperly and/or used abusive and/or insulting words towards a match official after being sent off in the 29th minute."
The 32-year-old Netherlands centre-back, who also appeared to argue with the fourth official before making his way down the tunnel, has until Friday to respond to the charge.
Currently, Virgil Van Dijk will serve a one-match ban for the initial red card and miss Liverpool's next game against Aston Villa on Sunday.

The charge comes after referees' chief Howard Webb said he was "determined" officials would not "turn a blind eye" to bad behaviour from players and coaches this season.
The incident occurred three minutes after Liverpool went behind to Anthony Gordon's opening goal and with the visitors under pressure in the game.
Darwin Nunez came off the bench to score twice late on and hand Liverpool a 2-1 victory to maintain their unbeaten start to the season.
The Netherlands international has until Friday to provide a response to the charge.
Virgil Van Dijk will miss Liverpool's home Premier League encounter with Aston Villa on Sunday but could miss the trip to Wolves on Saturday September 16 if his ban is extended.
The English Premier League has always been the hub of expensive players. Both the departure and arrival of players attract huge transfer fees. We will look at the players who arrived in the Premier League with a hefty price tag on their backs. SportzPoint brings you the list of the top 10 most expensive transfers in the premier league history.
The Ivory Coast international winger cum forward earned his way to Arsenal after his stellar performance with Lille. Although the Gunners got him for £ 80 million, he has failed to impress in the Premier League. Arsenal broke its bank to get this player, but they have got nothing except disappointment till now.
A bunch of clubs wanted him after watching his stellar performance with Bayer Leverkusen. However, not all the clubs were successful in getting him, as Chelsea bagged the German midfield prospect for a whopping fee of £ 80 million. Meanwhile, the German superstar has already won the coveted Champions League with the blues. Moreover, he is also one of the main men in Die Mannschaft's midfield.
Liverpool isn't known for their big-money buys however, this isn't the case here. The 6-time European Champions broke their banks to get hands-on with the Dutch defender Virgil Van Dijk. Liverpool paid a hefty fee of £ 84.65 million to Southampton FC to get him. Van Dijk was the most expensive defender in the world at the time however, he is now the second most expensive defender in football history.
Romelo Lukaku caught all eyes on him when he played for Everton. Manchester United was in a dire need of a striker and Lukaku emerged as the man of the moment. However, the Red Devils had to pay £ 84.70 million to the Merseyside club, Everton, to get him. Although he had a decent performance in the premier league for Manchester United, he left the club last season and joined Inter Milan. Lukaku turned things on the head for Inter as they won their first league since the 2009-10 season.
The young English prospect Jadon Sancho is the latest signing for Manchester United this season. Jadon Sancho was on every club's radar but Manchester United had the last laugh. They signed Sancho for £ 85 million from Borussia Dortmund putting him on no.3 in the list of most expensive transfers in the Premier League history. However, Sancho didn't have the greatest of Euros for England, he will look to contribute in the reds.
England's one of the trusted defenders in EURO 2020, left Leicester City for Manchester United for a fee of £ 87 million, making him the most expensive defender of all time. Maguire did quite well for England in the Euros and will look to carry on the form when he takes the pitch for Manchester United.
The 2018 World Cup winner is the most expensive player ever in the English Premier League. Manchester United just dominates in the list of most expensive transfers. They like to spend heavy money on the players but it doesn't always produce the result they hope for. Paul Pogba is one such signing for them, he was an absolute star at Juventus which is the reason he carried a huge value in the market. Pogba came back to his boyhood club after a career-defining stint at Juventus for a whopping fee of £89.3 million. Since then he has been a decent player for the red-devils but couldn't produce anything extraordinary when compared to the price tag that he carries.
Manchester City made the move of the window after they signed the ever-impressive Jack Grealish for a whopping fee of £ 100 million. Manchester City broke the premier league record of the most expensive transfer in history, previously held by Manchester United's Pogba. The Aston Villa star attracted people's attention after producing magical performances for Aston Villa day in and day out. However, doubts remain on where the mid-fielder would slot in with the likes of De Bruyne, Torres, Foden already in the team. Jack Grealish supposedly refused a higher salary from Aston Villa in order to play for Manchester City. According to multiple reports he wanted to win titles and there's no better place than Man city to do it.
2. Enzo Fernandez (105m Euros)
Chelsea dramatically agreed a British record deal to sign midfielder Enzo Fernández with an hour of the January transfer window to spare to push the club's spending past the £500 million mark under the Todd Boehly-Clearlake Capital ownership.
Enzo Fernández will sign with Chelsea until June 2031 — exactly same deal agreed on the first week of January 🚨🔵📑 #DeadlineDay

Co-controlling owner Behdad Eghbali led negotiations with Benfica from London on transfer deadline day and refused to take no for an answer during more than 12 hours of negotiations.
A breakthrough was finally made at around 10pm, ahead of the window officially shutting at 11pm for Fernández to move to Stamford Bridge for a fee in excess of 120 million euros.
That not only set a new club record, but also eclipsed the previous British record that was set by Jack Grealish's £100m move to Manchester City from Aston Villa.
Chelsea have completed the signing of Brighton midfielder Moises Caicedo for a £100m fee that could rise to a British club record of £115m.
Liverpool agreed a £111m deal for the 21-year-old Ecuador player on Friday.
But Caicedo's preference was Chelsea and they finally succeeded with a bid on Sunday evening after having a succession of offers rejected.
Caicedo, who joined Brighton for £4m in February 2021, has agreed an eight-year contract at Stamford Bridge and the Blues have an option of a further year.
The additional £15m in payments is based mostly on appearances and Brighton expect to receive the entire £115m within a short period of time.
The Seagulls have also negotiated a significant sell-on clause for the midfielder.
If Chelsea pay the full £115m fee it would mean they break the British club record twice in 2023, following the £107m purchase of Argentina midfielder Enzo Fernandez in January.
For now Moises Caicedo is the most expensive Chelsea signing ever.
