Switzerland vs Cameroon: 2022 World Cup, Group Stage Match Preview and Dream11 Predictions
Switzerland and Cameroon meet for the first time ever on Thursday, as the two nations kick off what could be a very competitive World Cup 2022 Group G.
With Brazil and Serbia matching up in the other clash of this group, a loss for either of these sides could threaten to end their campaign early.
They enter the tournament in differing form. Although the Swiss lost their World Cup warmup to Ghana, they do come in on the back of three successive competitive-match wins, with two of those coming against top-10 FIFA ranked nations.
Murat Yakin's side beat Portugal 1-0 in June, before winning 2-1 away in Spain in September in the UEFA Nations League.

The same can't be said for Cameroon, who enter the action in Qatar on the back of four winless international outings, the last two of which saw them draw 1-1, with both Jamaica and Panama in underwhelming pre-tournament friendlies.
Team News:
Switzerland:
Yann Sommer may not be at his sharpest this tournament, having only just recovered from an injury he sustained back in October.
The Borussia Monchengladbach star did play in the 2-0 defeat to Ghana on Thursday, however, as did Fabian Schar, Granit Xhaka, Denis Zakaria and Xherdan Shaqiri.
Cameroon:
Napoli star Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa is taking a knock into the tournament, but as one of Cameroon's star players he may be risked even if not at 100% sharpness.

11 players who have won the most trophies in football history
Argentine legend Lionel Messi has won the most trophies in football history (46). Here are the other 10 players who follow him on this list most successful football history.
Many great players have taken the football pitch and left the fans in awe. However, only a few players have gone on to win various trophies in their careers. In this special article, we will take a look at an elite list of players who have won the most trophies in football as a player.
But, yes, the below list only counts the major trophies won with teams and only only individual awards. We wanted to be clear with that at the start. With this list of "11 players who have won the most trophies in football history," we will able to judge which player has been a part of a winning team mostly.
Though, it is not always the case that when you win a trophy, you have a big role to play in that. But, in this list, all the players listed always had big contributions to their team's success. So, without further a due, let's checkout the list.
Top 11 players with the most trophies in football:
11. Vitor Baia (34 trophies)
Vitor Baia with the 2004 UEFA Champions League Trophy for FC Porto.
Vitor Baia spent most of his career with FC Porto except playing two years for Barcelona. Baia started his career with FC Porto in 1988 and left the club to join Barcelona in 1996.
Before retiring in 2007, he played for Barcelona in two stints and won the La Liga in 1997-98 season. His most success came his boyhood club FC Porto, where he won the Liga Portugal 10 times.
However, the biggest achievement was to win the UEFA Champions League in 2004 with the Dragons. Under the visionary eyes of Jose Mourinho, they created one of the greatest underdog success stories in European football.
In a total, Baia won 25 trophies with the Porto while adding the rest to his collection of glories for Barcelona. Unfortunately, he was not able to add any trophy while playing for Portugal.
Scottish legend Sir Kenny Dalglish is Liverpool's one of the most legendary players. Apart from playing 13 years for the Reds, he played for Celtic for 8 years at the start of his career.
For Liverpool FC, he won a club record 8 Premier League titles along with three Champions League titles. He had won 7 English Super Cups and 2 FA Cup titles as well.
While playing for Celtic, he became the Scottish Champion four times.

One of the most underrated players in modern football history, Di Maria always had to shine under the shadows of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.
Di Maria played alongside Lionel Messi for Argentina and then shared club dressing room with Cristiano at Real Madrid.
With his latest trophy for Benfica in the Portuguese Super Cup, he now has won 35 trophies in his career. Di Maria won five Ligue 1 titles with PSG and won his only Champions League title with Real Madrid.
However, just like Lionel Messi, his international success bloomed late in his career. He won the Copa America twice in 2021 and 2024. But, his major success was to win the FIFA World Cup 2022, where he scored an important in the final.

England vs Switzerland UEFA Euro 2024 Quarter-Final Highlights | England are through to the Semi-Finals following a 5-3 win in penalties
England booked their spot in the semi-final following a 5-3 victory over Switzerland in penalties in the UEFA Euro 2024 Quarter-Final at the Dusseldorf Arena in Germany.
England beat Switzerland 5-3 in penalties in the UEFA Euro 2024 quarter-final at Dusseldorf to book their spot in the Semi-Final. Embolo's strike in the 75th minute provided Switzerland with the lead but Bukayo Saka scored a magical goal in the 80th minute to bring his side back in the game. The match ultimately went into penalties and England made no mistake as they converted all five spot kicks. Pickford became the saviour by saving Akanji's spot kick and England will now either face Netherlands or Turkey in the semi-final.
England vs Switzerland: A brief highlight of the game
England booked their place in the semi-finals following a 5-3 penalty shootout win over Switzerland. All of England’s penalty-takers converted their kicks perfectly, especially Alexander-Arnold, who scored the winner with a powerful shot into the top corner.
The first half finished goalless but England were seen playing good football for the first time in the Euro 2024. But, there was no end product from the English side. Switzerland made a strong comeback in the second half and took the lead through Breel Embolo in the 75th minute.
But, England came back into the game through Bukayo Saka just five minutes later after conceding. Saka made some space for himself on the right and then unleashed a perfect low curler which ended up in the back of the net. Sommer could do nothing to stop it from going in. The match went to extra time but none of the teams were able to score and it ultimately went to the penalties.
England won their first Euro penalty shootout since 1996 against Spain. Switzerland pulled off a big upset in the round of 16 when they knocked out holders Italy but their journey at Euro 2024 ends in the quarterfinals.

Switzerland and Italy have played 60 games against each other and Italy have the upper hand, winning 29 of those matches while Switzerland have won only 7 games. The other 24 matches have ended in a draw.
Switzerland almost won against a strong German side in last Sunday's final group fixture but conceded a last-minute goal to only share a point. However, excluding shootouts, Switzerland have failed to win any of their seven previous last-16 matches at either the Euros or World Cup.

Switzerland have lost only once in their last 13 European Championship matches, that too was against Italy at the Euro 2020. They must make at least one change to their starting XI as Leonidas Stergiou is set to come in for the suspended Silvan Widmer. Widmer picked up his second booking of the tournament in the group-stage game against Germany.
Ruben Vargas and Zeki Amdouni both would like to start the game with Kwadwo Duah in the contention too. But, Breel Embolo made his first international start after a long injury layoff and has shown already why he should continue up front.
In midfield, captain Granit Xhaka must start alongside Remo Freuler, who set up three goals in his last four European Championship appearances. Schar and Akanji are rock solid at the back alongside Rodriguez and Sommer at the goal.
Italy
Italy have a historical advantage over Switzerland. Italy played two draws on their way to the Round of 16 but have some quality players. Italy edged out Albania in their opener, before losing against a stable Spanish side and then, played a dramatic draw against Croatia.
Riccardo Calafiori received two yellow cards during the group phase and will miss out on the chance to play against Switzerland. Francesco Acerbi and Giorgio Scalvini missed out due to pre-tournament injuries, so Gianluca Mancini is set to step into the Azzurri's defence. It's up to Luciano Spalletti now what he will decide in the game against a confident Switzerland.
Gianluca Scamacca may return at the place of Mateo Retegui. Neither one of them has scored so far and the Italian fans would very much like them to step up on Saturday. Barella will start in midfield alongside Jorginho while Dimarco will play as a wingback. Chiesa's performance has been hot and cold which is not the good news for Italy. He must step up on Saturday as Italy lacks goal-scoring ability lately.
