Amad Diallo joined English Premier League giant Manchester United from Atalanta in January 2021 for a reported £37 million. But he couldn't join the first team right away. He struggled a lot and then improved a lot to finally get the opportunity under Dutch tactician Erik ten Hag.
The Ivorian made his professional debut in 2019 for Atalanta. He became the youngest ever to score on an Italian top-flight debut at the age of 17 years. It was a long journey for him from there.
After joining United, he was first sent to Rangers on loan where he didn't get many minutes. United then decided to send him to Sunderland which worked fine. He returned to Man United in the 23/24 season and impressed the fans with his delightful performances.

How did Amad Diallo become one of Erik ten Hag's main men?
Former United player and boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer described Amad as “one of the most exciting young prospects in the game,” back in 2021. He took time but proved it.
Amad made history with the Red Devils last season when he scored a dramatic winner in a 4-3 (a.e.t) win against Liverpool in the FA Cup quarterfinals and celebrated as Messi did against Real Madrid. It was very similar and indeed a huge stage to announce himself as the next big thing.
Diallo earned his recent starting role with excellent performances for Manchester United during the pre-season. He impressed in a 2-0 win against the Rangers, getting on the scoresheet with a sensational finish, the same Rangers that didn't give him many minutes.
Amad has become an important player for Erik ten Hag in a short period. He started in Manchester United's 1-0 win against Fulham in the season opener. On matchday 2 against Brighton, he scored his first goal of the season with a deflected effort.

Amad scored in the 60th minute to draw United level after Danny Welbeck's 32nd-minute opener. His celebration was in honour of his stepmother, whom he had always seen and loved as a biological mother. The 22-year-old pointed up to the heavens when celebrating.
