Messi has not the best of starts to his season in the new colours. It is visible how the team has failed to link up with the Argentine. During his time in Barcelona Lionel Messi was involved in half of the play however, in PSG that isn't the case. While, the whole world is excited about the Neymar, Mbappe and Messi trio, it is not clicking just yet.

Paris Saint-Germain coach Mauricio Pochettino warned it would take some time for his formidable attacking trio to shine. PSG drew 1-1 at Club Brugge in their Champions League opener on Wednesday. Lionel Messi hit the woodwork on his first start with PSG but he failed to add to the scoresheet. Meanwhile, Neymar was hugely disappointing and Kylian Mbappe limped off the pitch injured after setting up Ander Herrera for the opening goal.
It was the first time the three attacking players were together on the field. However, they struggled to find each other and create space against a compact Belgian side.
"It requires time for them to shine together. It requires work. I had made it clear that we're not a team yet, we have to work for this."

Lionel Messi thrived when he received cutbacks from the likes of Jordi Alba or Luis Suarez in the past. However, at PSG he is not linking up with others quite well. From the position where he used to receive cutbacks at Barcelona, Mbappe dribbles through and shoots all alone. These small synergically influenced things will slowly build inside the team with enhanced pieces of training and better understanding between the players.
