Shriyanka Sadangi secured the 13th Paris Olympics quota place for India by finishing fourth in the women's 50m rifle 3 positions (3P) event at the ongoing Asian Shooting Championships on Tuesday. This was India's 13th Olympic quota in shooting and second in women's 50m rifle 3 positions.

Shriyanka Sadangi finished fourth in the final with a score of 440.5. While South Korea's Eunseo Lee (468.5) won the gold medal, Chinese shooters Jiayu Han (463.3) and Siyu Xia (453.3) won the silver and bronze medals respectively.

Meanwhile, in the 3P competition, all the Indian women shooters were at their peak since the qualification stage. India's number one player Sift Kaur Samra, playing only for ranking points (RPO), shot 592 and reached the top.

Ashi Chouksey scored 591 to secure the first qualifying position among the contenders and second position overall. Shriyanka Sadangi and Ayushi Podder also made it into the top eight with scores of 588 and 587 respectively. In RPO shooting also, Manini Kaushik stood 10th overall with 586 points.

At the start of the final, Shriyanka was leading among the three Indians with 10.9. After the first five kneeling shots, she stood second with 51.3, while Ayushi and Ashi were sixth and seventh respectively. After 10-shots, Han and Lee were already leading 1-2 and at the end Shriyanka replaced Ayushi, a position she would hold till the end.

In the prone position, Ashi started moving ahead while Shriyanka consolidated her fourth position. Ayushi lagged behind at seventh place. The fourth shot was very good for both Shriyanka and Ashi as the former scored 10.8 while the latter scored 8.7.

India's Paris Olympics quota was confirmed after the first 10-shot in the standings. Going into the last five single-shots in fifth and sixth place, Shriyanka Sadangi scored 10.1 against Ashi's 9.8 as Ashi sealed the Paris Olympics quota for herself.

In addition, the trio of Shriyanka, Ashi and Ayushi also won the women's 3P team gold with a combined score of 1766 points over Kazakhstan and Korea.
