Grand Slam, The world's most prestigious and important tournament in professional tennis. Players get more opportunities as well as more rankings and prize money in here. Grand Slam is the title of winning four major tournaments in the same calendar year. They are the Australian Open, French Open, US Open and Wimbledon. There are many male active players who have set a lot of Grand Slam records. Some of the major names are- Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal, and Andy Murray. So let's have a look on the active players who achieved the most Grand Slam titles.

1. Novak Djokovic- 24 Grand Slams

Novak Djokovic who is currently ranked No.2 has achieved the most number of Grand Slam titles and set a Grand Slam record after winning the US Open 2023 title. It has taken Novak Djokovic two decades, but he's surpassed the high bar set by rivals Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal to clinch a record-setting 24 men's Grand Slam titles, the most major titles won by a male player in the Open Era. He is one of eight male players of all time to achieve the Career Grand Slam in men's singles. Like Djokovic, Margaret Court won a total of 24, but some of hers were earned during the sport's amateur era.

Djokovic has a record of 10 Australian Open titles. Besides he has won overall 94 ATP singles titles, 38 Master titles, and 7 Wimbledon titles. The Serbian player started his tennis career in 2003 at the age of 20. He achieved his first Grand Slam title in 2008. He is the first player to complete a non-calendar year Grand Slam as well as a double-career Grand Slam.

2. Rafael Nadal- 22 Grand Slams

Rafael Nadal is one of the most decorated men's tennis stars and his Grand Slam achievements are a stuff of legends, but the Spaniard is one behind Novak Djokovic for most grand slam wins with 22 titles. Since winning his first-ever grand slam title in 2005, Nadal and his on-court rivals Roger Federer, who retired in 2022 and Djokovic have transformed the popularity of Tennis in the past two decades.

The Spaniard has won 14 French Open titles. This is the most for a single Grand Slam by any player in the history of the sport. Apart from his 14 French Open titles, Nadal has won the US Open four times, Wimbledon twice, and the Australian Open twice in 2009 and 2022. He has also achieved 11 out of 20 Grand Slam titles by beating his nemesis Federer and Djokovic at their peak. However, Rafael Nadal has been out of action since January due to a hip injury. As a result, he slipped out of the top 100 to be ranked 136th in the latest ATP rankings.

3. Andy Murray- 3 Grand Slams

The British tennis player, Andy Murray was originally coached by his mother Judy along with his brother Jamie. He started his professional career around the time Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal established themselves as the two dominant players in men's tennis. The 52 ranked Murray holds 3 Grand slam titles- two at the Wimbledon, one at the US Open. He has played eleven Grand Slam finals.

4. Stan Wawrinka- 3 Grand Slams

The Swiss tennis player, Stan Wawrinka also won 3 Grand Slam titles- one Australian Open, one French Open and one US Open. He likes to play in the clay surface and his best shots are the serve and backhand. Tennis great John McEnroe once said that Wawrinka has one of the most powerful backhands ever.

5. Juan Martin Del Potro- 1 Grand Slam

In 2009 US Open, Juan Martin Del Potro has defeated Rafael Nadal in the semifinal and five-time defending champion Roger Federer in the final and achieved a Grand Slam title. This was the biggest achievement of his career till now. Besides he has won the bronze medal in men's singles at the 2012 London Olympics and the silver medal at the 2016 Rio Olympics, winning Indian Well in 2018. But his career has been hampered because of his wrist and ankle injuries.

6. Marin Cilic- 1 Grand Slam

Marin Cilic also won one Grand Slam title in the 2014 US Open, including 20 ATP Tour singles titles. The Croatian tennis player was the runner-up of 2017 Wimbledon Championships and 2018 Australian Open. He achieved silver medal at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

7. Dominic Thiem- 1 Grand Slam

Dominic Thiem is the second highest Australian player in history since Thomas Muster. He has won one Grand Slam title at the 2020 US Open where he defeated Alexander Zverev in the final. The 28-year old was runner-up at the 2011 French Open Boys tournament and won the 2011 Orange Bowl.

8. Daniil Medvedev- 1 Grand Slam

The world No.1 Daniil Medvedev has defeated defending champion Novak Djokovic in the 2021 US Open final to grab the Grand Slam title. After that, he became the first and only player to defeat the top three ranked players in the world. He has also won 13 ATP Tour singles titles and four Masters 1000 titles.

9. Carlos Alcaraz | 1 Grand Slam

Carlos Alcaraz holds one Grand Slam singles title and is the youngest Grand Slam men's champion since Rafael Nadal at the 2005 French Open, and the youngest US Open champion since Pete Sampras in 1990. In addition, he was the youngest world number one since the ATP rankings began in 1973, breaking the mark set by Lleyton Hewitt, who was 20 when he became number one in 2001. He was about to win his second Grand Slam but however, lost to Djokovic in the French Open 2023 semifinal.

Carlos Alcaraz is ranked second in the ATP ranking right now. He has won four Masters 1000 titles and the US Open in 2022 among his ten ATP Tour singles victories.
