The Indian Cricket Team is playing their first of the three-match test match series at Bengaluru. With winning momentum being carried forward from the 2-0 series win against Bangladesh, Rohit Sharma and his men will try to carry forward their winning streak amidst the Orange Alert in Bengaluru.

Presently, India holds the longest series-winning streak in test cricket, winning a record 18 series at home. India last lost against England in early 2023. From February 2013 to the present, India tops the chart with its sheer dominance.

New Zealand however, is trying to recover from its 2-0 upset against against Sri Lanka. With the form India is having right now, it is likely for India to add on another series win, increasing its tally to 19.

How is Bengaluru weather right now?

Bengaluru is currently experiencing heavy rainfall due to a low-pressure system over the Bay of Bengal, prompting the India Meteorological Department (IMD) to issue an orange alert for October 16. Thunderstorms and lightning are expected to accompany the rain. Schools have been closed, with virtual classes being conducted as a precaution.

The city's temperature today is predicted to range between 20°C and 23°C, with steady winds blowing from the Northwest at 11 km/h. Humidity levels will remain high at around 83%, and despite the heavy rains, there won’t be much relief from the sticky conditions. The skies will stay cloudy throughout the day, though air quality is good, with an AQI of 42.

Several areas, including Varthur, Kadubeesanahalli, and Hebbal, saw significant rainfall on October 15, leading to waterlogging. The IMD has also issued alerts for other parts of Karnataka, with heavy rainfall expected in Bengaluru until October 18. Coastal and hilly regions may see further heavy rains, while North Interior Karnataka is under a yellow alert.
