Indian Super League team Mumbai City FC is debuting in the AFC Champions League 2022 after FC Goa made its debut in the last season. The ISL defending champions are drawn into Group B with clubs of Saudi Arabia, UAE, and Iraq.

Mumbai City FC is placed in Group alongside Al Jazira of the United Arab Emirates, Al Shabab of Saudi Arabia, and Air Force Club of Iraq in AFC Champions League. Mumbai City FC started this year's ISL with great momentum. The team was clearly dominating the league in the beginning and won 5 out of the first 6 matches. All of a sudden the team had to suffer a bit in between and managed to win only 2 points in their last 5 matches. Presently, the team is at the fourth spot of the table with 17 points in 11 matches. Their last clash with Kerala Blasters in ISL had to postpone due to Covid-19. The team will play the next match against Jamshedpur next Friday
