The Olympic football events will start before the opening ceremony of the Paris Olympics 2024, due to the large number of matches to be played. The tournament will occur in seven major French stadiums from July 24 to August 10, 2024. This will be the eighth edition of the women's Olympic football tournament. There are no player age restrictions for the Women's teams participating in the competition. Many young players and a few experienced ones will represent their nation and try to win the Gold Medal. Aitana Bonmati – Spain

Aitana Bonmati was the 2023 Ballon d’Or winner after a sensational season for club and country. The 26-year-old claimed her award alongside men’s winner Lionel Messi. Bonmati helped her side claim the 2023 World Cup in Australia with a 1-0 win against England.

The midfielder won the Golden Ball award in the World Cup as the tournament’s best player as she scored six goals in as many games, including netting in the final. She recently won the Champions League with Barcelona as they beat Lyon 2-0 in the final and Bonmati was on the scoresheet alongside Putellas.

Marta – Brazil

Marta is arguably the greatest female footballer in the history of the sport with six FIFA Player of the Year awards to her name. The 38-year-old is yet to win a major global trophy. She won silver at the 2004 and 2008 Olympics while finishing on the losing side in the 2007 World Cup final to Germany. Marta holds the record for the most goals (17) scored at either men’s or women’s World Cups. This will be Marta's last Olympics appearance and she would like to conclude with a beautiful gold medal.

Mary Fowler – Australia

Mary Fowler got the opportunity to present herself in front of the world during the 2023 World Cup when Australia superstar Sam Kerr was ruled out of the early matches due to an injury at the tournament. The then 20-year-old registered a goal in the group stage, an assist in the round of 16, and scored her spot kick in the penalty shootout win against France in the quarterfinals.

She played a significant part in the squad that reached the bronze medal match at the 2020 Games and scored in the 4-3 quarterfinal win against Great Britain. Fowler will try to establish herself as one of the key members of the Matildas' squad in the Paris Olympics 2024.

Lindsey Horan – USA

They have won four golds, two silvers, and one bronze. The 30-year-old forward was part of the team that lost their semifinal match to Canada in Tokyo 2020 but won the bronze medal following a 4-3 win against Australia. Lindsey made her senior International debut in 2013 and since then, she has appeared in 150 games for the USA. She has scored 35 goals and will try to extend the tally in the upcoming Summer Olympics.

Racheal Kundananji – Zambia

Kundananji will lead Zambia to the Summer Olympics and there are lots of expectations from the world’s most expensive female footballer. The striker played for Zambia in last year’s Women’s World Cup. She has already scored 10 goals in 18 international games. She scored 33 goals in 43 appearances for Madrid CFF before joining Bay FC for a record transfer fee.
