Top Indian Golfer who represented India in the 2016 Olympics earns a spot for himself in Tokyo 2020 as well. However, he is the only Indian to be competing in the Men’s Golf event in Tokyo. Anirban Lahiri found himself 60th in the final Olympic golf rankings list published on Tuesday. Kasumigaseki Country Club will host the men’s golf event in Tokyo from July 29 to August 1. Consequently, It is a top 60 player-affair.

“Best surprise I have got in a while, Can’t believe I will have the opportunity once again to represent the tricolour flag of India.” Excited Anirban Lahiri tweeted this after he came to know about the fact.

Lahiri is a PGA Tour regular who also represented India in Rio Olympics 2016 along with SSP Chawrasia and Aditi Ashok. He is also the Former Asia no.1 and a two-time winner on the European tour. Hence, Lahiri will look to make the most out of this opportunity. Last time out during the Rio Olympics Anirban finished tied in the 50th position.
Indians Udayan Mane and Gaganjeet Bhullar have been included in the reserves list but their participation will depend on withdrawals from other golfers.
