Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga is the most expensive goalkeeper in football history. Chelsea bought him from Laliga side Athletic Bilbao for a whooping £ 80 million. However, the Spanish international has not found his place in the starting xi and has been a regular bench warmer lately. Meanwhile, Tuchel has shown his trust over Edouard Mendy to be the man between the sticks.

The Ivory Coast international winger cum forward earned his way to Arsenal after his stellar performance with Lille. Although the Gunners got him for £ 80 million, he has failed to impress in the Premier League. Arsenal broke its bank to get this player, but they have got nothing except disappointment till now.

A bunch of clubs wanted him after watching his stellar performance with Bayer Leverkusen. Liverpool paid a hefty fee of £ 84.65 million to Southampton FC to get him. Van Dijk was the most expensive defender in the world at the time however, he is now the second most expensive defender in football history.

5. Romelu Lukaku (£ 84.70 million)
Romelo Lukaku caught all eyes on him when he played for Everton. Manchester United was in a dire need of a striker and Lukaku emerged as the man of the moment. However, the Red Devils had to pay £ 84.70 million to the Merseyside club, Everton, to get him. Although he had a decent performance in the premier league for Manchester United, he left the club last season and joined Inter Milan. England’s one of the trusted defenders in EURO 2020, left Leicester City for Manchester United for a fee of £ 87 million, making him the most expensive defender of all time. 1. Jack Grealish (£ 100 million)
Manchester City made the move of the window after they signed the ever-impressive Jack Grealish for a whopping fee of £ 100 million. Manchester City broke the premier league record of the most expensive transfer in history, previously held by Manchester United’s Pogba. The Aston Villa star attracted people’s attention after producing magical performances for Aston Villa day in and day out. However, doubts remain on where the mid-fielder would slot in with the likes of De Bruyne, Torres, Foden already in the team. Jack Grealish supposedly refused a higher salary from Aston Villa in order to play for Manchester City. According to multiple reports he wanted to win titles and there’s no better place than Man city to do it.
